The Council of Fellows is a constituency of STLHE and a vibrant community of award-winning teachers and students. In its 35-year history of supporting excellent teaching and learning and educational leadership in higher education, over 350 National Teaching Fellows and National Student Fellows have been welcomed into the Fellowship.

When the eligibility to apply for a 3M National Teaching Fellowship changed and opened to any individual currently teaching at a Canadian university or college, regardless of discipline, program, level, or term of appointment, the College Sector Educator Award was retired and all previous recipients joined the Council of Fellows community.

The Council shares the aims of the STLHE, advises the 3M National Teaching and Student Fellowships Program Coordinators, and undertakes projects that enhance teaching and learning in Canadian post-secondary institutions.
